SBB 6 (star) just traded! This beauty is being upgraded to our latest '500' specifications:
The current tip opening for this SBB is 2.314mm, or 0.092".The previous owner has decided to go up one size in tip opening. Since our mouthpieces cannot be refaced without significant degradation to the Internal Resonance Coefficient (IRC), the best move was to trade this otherwise perfect mouthpiece for a larger tip size (the next viable tip opening that conforms to the peak resonance point on the graph is a 7*, or around 0.102").
I am currently in the stages of upgrading this SBB. The existing finish is already in excellent condition and only shows slight signs of wear and tear (looks almost as good as new, but not quite, if you know what I mean).
The '500' upgrade will provide the prospective buyer with a 'powerhouse' mouthpiece that is guaranteed to outplay any current and/or vintage baffle-free design.
Without a doubt, this mouthpiece will end all searches - guaranteed.

Two fantastic Zagarsax mouthpieces just traded! The ZAGAR Silvertail series traditional tenor has a brilliant powerful projection, and was our slant link solution for 2006.
These two Silvertail mouthpieces belonged to a Melbourne pro who just traded up to one of our latest SBB 400 mouthpieces. Both mouthpieces are in very good condition; however, the 7* has the slightest of dings in the side/table area - this in no way whatsoever affects the acoustical integrity of the mouthpiece, and is only a small cosmetic blemish.
All in all, the Silvertail model represents some of my finest mouthpiece work ever; this is a brilliant, projecting and powerful design...

When this trade-in arrived, it was put aside - packaging and all. Now more that a year later I open the pack to discover a Vintage Bronze mouthpiece that is in phenomenal condition, but more importantly the thing plays like a bat out of hell!
This mouthpiece is somewhat of an enigma - a mystery wrapped in a riddle if you like . . .
From my own findings (supported by Dave's astute skill in measuring mouthpieces), I have finally concluded that this may be one of the original VB mouthpieces that was the precursor to our world-famous SBB models - it most definitely is one of the 'transitional' mouthpieces just prior to the release of the famous SBB models.
